What You'll Learn
This Self-Reliant Diver course is as much about mindset as it is about skills. You’ll learn:
- Advanced gas planning and management
- Redundancy systems and how to use them effectively
- Situational awareness and risk assessment
- Navigation and self-orientation skills
- Problem-solving without immediate buddy assistance
- How to assess the risks involved in solo diving
We’ll also dive into the why behind every decision, so you’re not just following steps, you’re thinking like a self-reliant diver.
What's Included:
Classroom presentation and discussion with a certified and experienced Self-Reliant Specialty Instructor. 3 Training Dives All rental equipment including two dive computers and a redundant air supply (pony bottle)
What You Achieve:
Self-Reliant Diver Specialty certification, improved dive planning & gas management abilities, navigation and self-orientation skills, and training to assess the risks of diving solo.. Counts toward one of five specialties required for Master Scuba Diver rating.
Requisites:
Advanced Open Water, 18 years of age, 100 logged dives, must complete the PADI Continuing Education forms, including PADI Medical Questionnaire.
