With the PADI Open Water Diver certification, a lifetime of SCUBA diving adventures will be available to you in virtually no time. You can become a confident, certified diver in as little as 2 ½ days, opening up a world of exploration. Your instructor will guide you step by step, making sure that you are comfortable, relaxed and enjoying yourself at all times. No previous experience required. And our warm, clear and calm waters make getting your open water scuba certification in Honduras an excellent idea!
The PADI Open Water Diver course includes three parts: Knowledge Development, Confined Water Dives, and Open Water Dives. Knowledge Development covers the principles, concepts and terms you need to know for dive safety and enjoyment. During the Confined Water Dives, you learn and practice scuba skills in the shallow waters of our bay. Then, to complete training you practice, you will apply and demonstrate what you’ve learned through four Open Water Dives alongside your instructor upon the beautiful Roatan reef.
There are two ways to approach the Knowledge Development portion of the program:
Option 1 | PADI E-Learning
PADI Open Water E-Learning is perfect option for people who like to learn online independently and at their own pace. This option allows you to complete the knowledge development portions of the course in advance, so you can focus on the in-water training when you arrive. This also adds convenience, shortening your onsite training time to 2 – 2 ½ days so you can enjoy more of your vacation and fun diving!
Wondering if E-Learning is right for you? Check out this blog article to help you decide.
Sign up for PADI e-learning to complete the knowledge development before arrival and shave a day off of your course time!
Option 2 | Full PADI Course at Sun Divers
This option is great for people who are more verbal and social learners. With this approach, knowledge development occurs through reading the Open Water Manual and reviewing and discussing each section with your instructor. You’ll receive 3 ½ to 4 full days of training with our experienced staff. We recommend that you take a half or full day in advance to read your materials, relax and ideally get in the water and snorkel in preparation for your training. We can also ship the book to you ahead of time – or you can buy at your local PADI dive shop – so you can get all the studying done before your vacation!
Included in our cost for both options are all instruction and training, certification dives, equipment rental, PADI certification card fee and diver logbook. Complimentary mask, snorkel and fins rental is also included for student divers.
