Do You Rent Tanks?

We do not rent tanks for shore diving. While the reef is quite close by boat, it is a bit of a swim from shore. All diving is best conducted by boat with a local guide.

How Far Are the Dive Sites?

One of the advantages of diving in Roatan is that dive sites are very close. Some of our most beautiful dive sites are literally one minute away, and the farthest site within our usual range is approximately 25 minutes away.

How Many People Do Your Boats Hold?

Both of our boats fit 10–12 divers comfortably, including divemaster-instructors. However, fun dive groups are capped at 6 divers per divemaster, and courses are limited to 4 students per instructor.

Is Parking Available?

If you are driving into West End, you can find parking at Coconut Tree Plaza, only a one-minute walk away. Parking is usually free during the day and 100 lempiras after 5pm (subject to change). There is no street parking in West End, and your vehicle may be booted if you park illegally.

What Dive Sites Do You Go To?

Our location in Half Moon Bay, West End is in the middle of over 70 dive sites on Roatan's Northside. Our normal dive range extends from The Point on the southwest end of the island to the Odyssey wreck up north.

What Kind of Tanks Do You Use?

Our standard tanks are 80 cuf aluminum, yolk valve. We also offer 63 cuf and 100 cuf tanks upon request and have DIN adapters available.

We are a certified ScubaPro dealer and carry top-of-the-line ScubaPro rental equipment, including ScubaPro Glide BCDs with ergonomic design, padded comfort, and reliable performance.

How Long is the Open Water Course?

The Open Water Course includes independent study plus in-person instruction. Independent study can be done through videos, manuals, or PADI eLearning. In-person sessions cover confined water and four open water dives.

How Many Dives Does the Open Water Course Include?

To become a PADI Open Water Diver, you must complete 4 open water dives and the required skills, each with a minimum depth of 5 meters / 15 feet and about 20 minutes underwater.

What Should I Bring to My Open Water Course?

Bring an open mind and a positive attitude! Our facilities have wifi, lockers, showers, coffee, water, and a changing room. You may also want to bring completed coursework, a towel, sunscreen, and swimwear.

Can I Drink the Water?

Yes. Drinking water in Roatan is purified and safe at restaurants and hotels. Water and ice are distilled and distributed by a purification company used by all businesses and residences.

Do I Need a Converter?

Roatan uses 120V power with plug types A and B, the same as standard U.S. outlets. Some hotels may charge extra for electricity use, especially with air conditioning, as power is expensive on the island.

Yes. Mosquitoes and sand flies are common in Roatan, especially near the beach at sunrise and sunset. Bring or buy insect repellent to stay comfortable.

Yes. It’s customary to tip restaurant staff, bartenders, spa providers, cleaning staff, and dive professionals. Tipping is not expected in land taxis, but you can round up your fare.

Cash is widely used in Roatan. Both U.S. dollars (USD) and Lempiras (HNL) are accepted. Make sure your USD bills are clean and untorn. ATMs are available in West End if you need cash.

Most dive sites in Roatan are best at 50–60 feet. We only dive within certification limits and prioritize safety while still ensuring great marine life viewing.

Average dive times are 60 minutes. Most sites allow buddy teams to ascend independently so one diver’s air consumption doesn’t limit the group.

What if I Can't Find My Certification Card?

If you don’t have your certification card, we can verify your certification through PADI, SSI, or NAUI. We’ll help confirm your credentials at check-in.

What Is Your Schedule?

We offer two-tank morning dives at 8:30 a.m., two-tank afternoon dives at 1:15 p.m. (when the morning trip is full), one-tank afternoon dives at 2:15 p.m., and night dives on demand.

We offer night dives on demand when we have 4 or more divers. Roatan night dives often feature the bioluminescent 'String of Pearls' phenomenon during low moonlight.
