We’re excited to share that Sun Divers Roatan is on the official ballot for the 2027 Scuba Diving Reader’s Choice Awards hosted by Scuba Diving Magazine — one of the most respected honors in the global dive industry.
This annual Reader’s Choice Survey allows you to evaluate all dive regions and operators that you have experienced in the past 24 months – to determine the best of the industry.
Plus, there’s an added bonus: You’ll not only directly help shine a spotlight on the dive industry’s best, but you’ll also be automatically entered into a chance to win a $500 Visa gift card that could help fund your next dive adventure!

What Are the Scuba Diving Reader’s Choice Awards?
The Scuba Diving Reader’s Choice Awards are annual awards organized by Scuba Diving Magazine that recognize the world’s best dive destinations, dive operators, resorts, and liveaboards — all based on votes from real divers.
Unlike awards decided by judges or industry panels, the Reader’s Choice Awards are powered entirely by
firsthand diver experiences. Divers vote on the places and operators that stood out most for things like:
- Quality of staff
- Attention to safety
- Marine life
- Training and courses
- Dive boats and facilities
- Environmental sustainability
- Value
- Overall guest experience
That’s what makes these awards so meaningful. They come directly from the people who actually experienced the diving.
How to Vote in the Reader’s Choice Awards
Voting only takes a few minutes — and every vote helps support our little Roatan dive shop 🩵
Step 1: Open the Official Ballot
Visit the official Scuba Diving Magazine Reader’s Choice Awards Survey
Step 2: Answer the General Dive Questions
Questions 1–4 are simple general questions about your diving activity, including:
- When you dive
- Where you dive
- Your future dive travel plans
Step 3: Select the Destinations You’ve Visited
You’ll be asked to select destinations you’ve visited within the past 24 months from these regions.
- Continental United States & Canada
- Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean & Mediterranean Sea
- Caribbean Sea & Atlantic Ocean
💡 To vote for Sun Divers: Under Caribbean Sea & Atlantic Ocean, select: Bay Islands of Honduras (Utila, Roatán, Guanaja & Cayos Cochinos)
Step 4: Evaluate the Destination
You’ll then answer questions about the destination overall, including:
- Marine life
- Dive features
- Travel experience
- Overall diving quality
Step 5: Select Dive Operators to Evaluate
After evaluating the Bay Islands, you’ll see a list of dive operators.

Step 6: Rate Your Experience with Dive Operators
You’ll be asked to evaluate the operator on categories such as:
- Quality of operations
- Staff & instructors
- Boats & facilities
- Safety
- Training
- Overall guest experience
💡 There’s also an optional written testimonial section where you can share what you loved most about diving with Sun Divers. These comments may be featured by Scuba Diving Magazine and are one of the most impactful ways to support our shop and help future divers discover us.
